Obsessed with Distress Oxides with Craftin Desert Divas

Hi Crafty Friends

Yep that's true - I'm obsessed with Distress Oxides!

Today I'm sharing one of my favorite techniques with Distress Oxides together with some of the amazing Craftin Desert Divas DT ladies - go check it out

Before you jump over to see the other amazing cards, let me show you how you can create a quick, simple and beautiful background - by making a colorsplash with Distress Oxides!

I love working with this simple technique, and the background are just amazing!
I picked the new 'Moved Lawn' for my card today - amazing green color.

For this technique I use a piece of cellophane, watercoloring cardstock, mini water spray and Distress Oxide - it is so simple, take a look.

After the ink dried I used the 'Fancy Frame Dies' and my background is all done - simple and beautiful!

I colored up the cute bear from 'Critter Punnies' with E50-E51-E21

That's how you create a quick, simple and beautiful background - by making a colorsplash with Distress Oxides <3 I hope you want to give it a try yourself.

Smiles Across The Miles with Craftin Desert Divas

Hi Crafty Friends

One of the best things in this amazing crafty world, is to create beautiful and personal cards! I love to create and send out handmade cards, and for family and friends I always give them a personal touch, like the persons name or a thing that relates to the person receiving it.

Today I want to show you this cute card I made for Craftin Desert Divas Creative Challenge - a challenge full of amazing card ideas for you

Smiles Across the Miles: Tips for Handmade Encouragement that Shows You Care

For this card I used the super cute little girl from 'Fruity Friends' stamp set <3
I guess she's a little pear, but I just had to try to color her up as a little happy peach, and I love the result. The sweet sentiment is from 'Ice Cream Treat'.

I used the 'Fancy Frame Dies' to create my background, and colored up the background with 'Cracked Pistachio' Distress Oxide.

Let's get started with the Copic coloring <3
I have a lot of favorite combos, one of them is for skin coloring - I always use E21-E11 and I always start using the lightest color. For the cheeks I used R11.

I love to color the hair blond, and I always do highlights by leaving a white space - it makes it look so shiny. The combo I used for the hair: E50-E51-E53.

For the cute peach I used YR000-YR01-YR02, and again I always start using the lightest color. I used R22 to make the small highlights. The top is colored with YG11-G12 and E23.

To color the little butterfly I used R32-R22 and G40.

I took a close up to show you the highlights I made with a white gel pen. Oh my she really is cute don't you think!

That's all from me today, I hope my card gave you some ideas for your own cardmaking.

Let's get coloring with Craftin Desert Divas

Hi Crafty Friends!

Today I'm sharing some of my Copic Marker coloring tips, and one of my favorite combos, together with Craftin Desert Divas Designteam in our Coloring Challenge

I got the best tip from some of my crafty girlfriends, when I bought my first Copic Markers, and I want to pass it on to all of you: Color and write it down!  I always write the combos I like down in my little Copic bible, or if I want to remember what colors I used to color a certain image. Sometimes I color on a little piece of Neenah Cardstock (my favorite cardstock) and write the numbers on that.
Ohh and I always have my Hex Chart next to me when I'm coloring - really can't live without it!!

I just love pastels, white layers and Distress Oxide stencil backgrounds, so that's what I'm showing you today with this adorable card.

Okay, let's get coloring <3

The favorite Copic Marker combos I'm going to show you today: W0-W1, G0000-G000-G00-BG32.

I wanted to give this little cutie from 'Brighter Days' a very soft look, so I only added shadings using W0 and W1. I colored very close to the edges of the stamp, and then used my Colorless Blender 0, to make the edges soft. Using Colorless Blender 0, is a great way to soften the edges, I use that a lot in my coloring.
I gave her some soft pink cheeks using E0000, and for her little nose I used R20.

For her cute little outfit I used my all time favorite combo G0000-G000-G00-BG32 <3
I always use the lightest tone first, all over the image, and then I go darker to add shadings. Again I wanted a very soft look, so I just added a soft shading to the outfit too. The collar, laces , hat and ears got a bit of coloring with YR0000.

The sweet little butterflies are both colored with R00 and E93. I only colored the wings close to the body, that way the butterflies looks shiny. The net and butterfly box are colored with E41 and I added some BG0000 to the glass box.

Oh how about that little mouse, is it cute or what! Again I used W0-W1, and for the ears I used E0000-R00.

For the background I used Distress Oxide Tattered Rose, together with the new 'Swirl' stencil. Again I made a soft look by letting the color fade out in the edges.
Oh, and is that stencil amazing or what, I just love it!

I cut out my colored background. together with a white using 'Fancy Frame Dies'. I stamped the sentiment "You make me" from 'Happy Sentiments' with a mix of Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick.

I used 'Happy Die' to cut out a soft pink "Happy" and added it beneath the sentiment I stamped, and then I added some sequins from 'Shimmer Sequins'.

The final result, a sweet pastel card.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you got a tip or two you can use.
