Let's get coloring with Craftin Desert Divas

Hi Crafty Friends!

Today I'm sharing some of my Copic Marker coloring tips, and one of my favorite combos, together with Craftin Desert Divas Designteam in our Coloring Challenge

I got the best tip from some of my crafty girlfriends, when I bought my first Copic Markers, and I want to pass it on to all of you: Color and write it down!  I always write the combos I like down in my little Copic bible, or if I want to remember what colors I used to color a certain image. Sometimes I color on a little piece of Neenah Cardstock (my favorite cardstock) and write the numbers on that.
Ohh and I always have my Hex Chart next to me when I'm coloring - really can't live without it!!

I just love pastels, white layers and Distress Oxide stencil backgrounds, so that's what I'm showing you today with this adorable card.

Okay, let's get coloring <3

The favorite Copic Marker combos I'm going to show you today: W0-W1, G0000-G000-G00-BG32.

I wanted to give this little cutie from 'Brighter Days' a very soft look, so I only added shadings using W0 and W1. I colored very close to the edges of the stamp, and then used my Colorless Blender 0, to make the edges soft. Using Colorless Blender 0, is a great way to soften the edges, I use that a lot in my coloring.
I gave her some soft pink cheeks using E0000, and for her little nose I used R20.

For her cute little outfit I used my all time favorite combo G0000-G000-G00-BG32 <3
I always use the lightest tone first, all over the image, and then I go darker to add shadings. Again I wanted a very soft look, so I just added a soft shading to the outfit too. The collar, laces , hat and ears got a bit of coloring with YR0000.

The sweet little butterflies are both colored with R00 and E93. I only colored the wings close to the body, that way the butterflies looks shiny. The net and butterfly box are colored with E41 and I added some BG0000 to the glass box.

Oh how about that little mouse, is it cute or what! Again I used W0-W1, and for the ears I used E0000-R00.

For the background I used Distress Oxide Tattered Rose, together with the new 'Swirl' stencil. Again I made a soft look by letting the color fade out in the edges.
Oh, and is that stencil amazing or what, I just love it!

I cut out my colored background. together with a white using 'Fancy Frame Dies'. I stamped the sentiment "You make me" from 'Happy Sentiments' with a mix of Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick.

I used 'Happy Die' to cut out a soft pink "Happy" and added it beneath the sentiment I stamped, and then I added some sequins from 'Shimmer Sequins'.

The final result, a sweet pastel card.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you got a tip or two you can use.

Hooray - Let the good times roll!

Hi Crafty Friends

Day 2 of Craftin Desert Divas July Release, this is so exciting!

Today we are showing you the new stamp set 'Skatin By' and the new stencil 'Swirl' and I want to show you how I made this awesome card.

I just love working with Distress Oxides and stencils - and this new one 'Swirl' from Craftin Desert Divas is so awesome. I used the colors 'Cracked Pistachio' and 'Peacock Feathers' to make this background, a really cool combo if you ask me.

Is this the coolest fox ever blowing that pink bubble, or what! Aww this new set is so awesome, I promise you.

My color combo for this dude
Fox: E11-E13-E15-E0000-E000, Close: C0-C1-C3, Hat/shoes: BG13, Bubblegum: RV00-RV10-RV02.

I also used the new die Hooray from 'Torn Paper Dies' we showed on Craftin Desert Divas blog yesterday. For this one I colored a piece of cardstock in pink ombre using the same colors as the bubblegum, before I used my Big Shot. I stamped the sentiment Let the good times roll also from 'Skatin By' on a little white banner.

I added foam dots to the back of the fox and sentiment banner to make it pop out, and glued the Hooray die cut on with Glossy Accents. The pink star sequins I added are from 'Twinkle' sequins mix.
And there you have an awesome but simple card.

That's all from me today - thanks for stopping by.

See you soon again.

Hugs,
Janni

Summer Holidays Theme - Wet Feet

Hi Crafty friends.

Okay I'm doing it!! I finally decided to start publishing on my blog - that only took me about a year!

The first post is about this cute card I made for Craftin Desert Divas last week <3

Enjoy.

Hugs Janni

Let me show you how I made this sweet summer card using 'Wet Feet'.

The first thing I did was to cut my background using 'Fancy Frame Dies', a banner using 'Flag Banner Dies' and a scalloped circle with  'Stitched in Circle Dies' - all in white cardstock.

Then I lined up all the stuff I needed to make my card - my favorites. CDD dies, a cute stamp, Distress Oxides, blending tools, Stencil, Copics and sequins.

Today I'm coloring my background with the new amazing 'Polygon Stencil'. Ohh I just love to work with it, it makes such an amazing pattern. The colors I used was Distress Oxides 'Cracked Pistachio' and Peacock Feathers'

Here you see the result after I sprayed it with a bit of water - this is so amazing!

Copic Coloring time! How cute is that little flamingo <3
My combo's: R00-R12-R42, W0-W1-W3-W5-W7, G000-G00-BG32, E0000-E01.

I stamped the sweet sentiment on a little banner from 'Flag Banner Dies' and placed it up in the left corner. The cute flamingo is placed on the Scalloped circle with 3d foam dots and placed in the right side of the card. I added some 'Shimmer Sequins' and white highlights on the flamingo - and the card is done.

I hope my card got you in a summer mood, thanks for stopping by.

See you soon again,
Hugs
Janni
